Volvo 244 DL & Volvo 240 GL

The Volvo 200 series cars, fall in what is labelled as “nerd-chic”. A trend in which everything that once seemed utterly boring, unfashionable and unstylish, is now considered immensely cool. Huge glasses, jacquard pull-overs, top buttons done up, and brightly colored windbreakers join the list.

That was just one of the reasons why I really wanted to dislike these cars, but that was before I had a taste of their delicate, tactile and easy going handling. What a joy!

I like them so much, that I’m not sure if I’m utterly boring, or immensely cool, although the latter seems unlikely…
